What would be a better way to beat the cold than with a warm, delicious snack made with our own little hands? Today, our budding chefs put on their aprons and took on the art of making French toast; a golden, crispy, and oh-so-yummy treat!
Armed with eggs, slices of bread, and lots of excitement, the learners carefully listened to instructions, their eyes fixed on the sizzling pan. Step by step, they whisked the eggs, dipped the bread (some a little too generously, but hey, extra flavor!), and gently placed them on the pan. The room filled with the mouth-watering aroma of buttery, golden-brown goodness, making tummies rumble and eyes light up with anticipation.
“This looks like magic!” one excited learner exclaimed, watching the soft bread transform into a crispy delight.
Another couldn’t help but sneak a taste, nodding in approval as they chewed. Meanwhile, our teachers stood by, guiding, cheering, and making sure we didn’t end up with ‘French charcoal’ instead!
Cooking at Appleton School is more than just a fun activity. It is a hands-on learning experience that teaches our little ones important life skills like patience, precision, and teamwork. Plus, there’s no better way to practice following instructions than when food is involved (suddenly, everyone listens carefully!).
After flipping, frying, and, of course, tasting, our tiny chefs proudly held up their creations, ready to enjoy their hard-earned snack. “Mmm… this is better than what my older brother makes!” one cheeky learner declared, while another was already reaching for a second helping.
A warm, tasty, and educational session that filled both hearts and stomachs. That’s how we do it at Appleton School, where learning is always a treat!
A toast to that!
